12/31: Joy

The holiday season is always a treat because, well, Ah like treats. Some treats you eat but mah favorite are the ones that bring you joy!

This Christmas, Toots and Ah got more magic toys. Much like when Toots and Ah to played with Mr. and Mrs. Magic Mouse in April, we rolled around under the beautiful light of the Christmas tree with our new toys.

Although Ah know we’ve been extra good this year, Santa must have had leftover coal. We didn’t take it personally though because it smelled extra nice and we were extra happy to not let it go to waste. Who knew coal tasted so good!

Later in the day, Toots insisted on an indoor, military lesson. She taught me interesting strategies such as how the tiny horses move. Although Ah’ve never seen one, Ah actually thought horses were big… or am Ah just really big? Mysteries of life Ah suppose.

Only a few turns in, Toots immediately brought her King to the front lines. She is as bold in chess as she is in life! Ah thought about mah next move for a long while, until Ah realized Ah was just being mesmerized by the pattern on the board.

Toots eventually asked: ”Who’s turn is it? White?”

Ah excitedly responded by telling her that, yes, of course Ah’m white! Have you seen mah fur?

She stared at me for a few long moments and sighed: “Indeed, but you are also the white chess pieces Silly One.”

Oh! We kept playing and had a wonderful time. Indoors with mah family is always special - except perhaps when strange objects get placed on your head. Mysteries of life Ah suppose.
