Salud,
Only change marks ze passing of time. This Summer, my humans changed ze backyard, again. I don’t involve myself in their mindless plans; I either accommodate or make my dissatisfaction known. Lucky for them, ze changes that were made are to my benefit.
First, they rearranged my pit of fire to which I was indifferent to. Second, my humans moved my white convertible automobile machine to ze eastern front lines of Crawford territory (I outlined ze scouting benefits of this original change in August of 2018). In its replacement, my blue box automobile machine now rests on the southern edge offering a more suitable steel perch.

I now have a comfortable roost in the front territory and a higher vantage point to overlook Fangorn Forest in the rear.
Due to these movements, this is an opportune time to teach Beans the Changing Of Ze Guard. After my successful shift, I call upon him to replace my position.

Beans, Ze Forever Silly One, does not arrive immediately upon my call.
At first, he dawdles. Then, due to his larger physique, it takes him multiple attempts to jump onto ze front of ze automobile machine. During this failed Guard transition, I missed an important opportunity to hunt a squirrel.

Immediately upon arrival, Beans tries to tells me a story about a stick but my Mania is already overflowing. I swiftly leave ze High Perch and reprimand him for his infractions.

With ze squirrel still at large, I decide to remain in position for ze duration of Bean's Guard Duty. During my supervision, I reinforce to Beans ze simple concept of punctuality alongside the more complex topics of Honor, Duty and Respect.

Alas, despite certain inadequacies, it is comforting to know that I have a partner in Duty, and Beans tries his best to meet my high expectations.
Au revoir,
Lé Toots
