Salud,
I am cautious feline. Last week, my humans successfully heeded my warning of approaching weather. In the early hours, my whiskers began to flutter and detect a change to the barometric pressure of the atmosphere. And, soon, my tongue began to taste the added moisture of the breeze. A storm was near.
To prepare, we moved backyard objects. I traditionally forbid the touching of my property but, whilst under my keen surveillance, thy humans performed to my moderate satisfaction.
First: Birdbath was overturned. Regrettably, such change will take weeks for birds to regain false sense of comfort in thy backyard. But, in time, birds will return and I shall feast.

Second: My sailboat, Velocity Report, had to be de-rigged and properly stowed. I ordered for the vessel to be moved into Gladden Fields in order to mitigate tree fall damage. Beans dutifully inventoried barnacles underneath the hull but I forgot he can only count to 10. Hence, he reported 10 barnacles, so I will need to verify his findings at a later time.
With tarp protection temporarily removed, I took the opportunity to enjoy the deck and feel the salty Atlantean breeze in my fur.

With my precise guidance, humans unhooked mast and boom from lines for temporary storage on porch. Porch was in complete disarray but my belongings were safe. Emulating a Safe-Rather-Than-Sorry mindset is critical during such events.

Although Hurricane ultimately did not pass, the safety of my assets was ensured. This was a successful emergency drill and an eye-opening experience for the naïve Beans.
Au revoir,
